For the last two and a half months Philip has been working on building a catenary arch kiln inspired by his decision to develop my porcelain work using soda firing, as a result of reading Ruthanne Tudball’s book ‘Soda Firing’.  Jack Doherty’s  help and advice has been invaluable. Attached is a photo of the kiln as of close of play on Sunday. The gas burners arrive this week. To finish, I need to complete constructing the flue, order some kiln shelves, props and bricks to close off the front. The third image is of philip’s recent work.
