The New Ashgate Gallery is presenting a range of work made by students, recent graduates and emerging artists, designers and makers in an exhibition called Rising Stars.  Sponsored by the Billmeir Charitable Trust, Rising Stars is New Ashgate’s annual event to support, exhibit and educate the art, craft and design stars of the future.

The invited exhibitors are makers who have graduated in the past 2-4 years and are classified as emerging. Two makers previously exhibited in Rising Stars, and we use this opportunity to revisit their work. The third maker has exhibited regularly since her graduation and has recently participated in the Crafts Council Collective Maker Development Programme, Hothouse.

The open exhibitors are artists, designers and makers who are students or graduated since 2009. They submitted applications to exhibit, and fought off stiff competition to exhibit in Rising Stars.
