Wooley and Wallis Salisbury Salerooms An auction of donated works in aid of the potters of Mashiko, Japan.
Many potters in Mashiko, the home and work place of Hamada Shoji, have lost their kilns and workshops.
The Leach Pottery in St Ives have initiated an appeal fund into which the proceeds of this auction will be paid. The funds will be used to rebuild kilns and workshops and provide support during the rebuilding process.
Thanks to Michael Jeffrey and Wooley and Wallis for their support and I hope that collectors will bid for pieces by up to 25 the best potters in the UK including Svend Bayer, John Leach, Lisa Hammond,Jim Malone, Mike Dodd with a stunning piece by Gordon Baldwin and lithographs by Bernard Leach.
