This course will explore the use of clay in an experimental way, using a variety of hand building and mould making techniques. Looking at how to achieve a variety of surfaces, exploring texture, colour and glaze with an emphasis on test pieces within the making.

There will be an opportunity to work with paper clay as part of this process, working on personal design projects; supporting the development of individual ideas. Students will be encouraged to use sketchbooks for their research and to document all experiments and tests
