‘State of Clay’ next event – Thursday 19th September 2019


“State of Clay” founder, Fay De Winter is pleased to announce the first ‘State of Clay’ public events, holding mobile miniature pottery workshops, in connection with The Royal Society of Sculptors during the London Design Festival and Urban Makers at Old Spitalfields Market in November as a pre-Christmas treat. Two hour throwing workshops will be available to book at a special advanced booking rate. Spaces are limited to 10 per group, so advance booking is essential.

She says “My aim is to share ceramics with a wider audience, to make it easier for all to be creative with clay. Touching, shaping and crafting with clay increases well-being, while developing satisfying skills of making artistic objects by hand.”

The Royal Society of SculptorsTry your hand at creating miniature porcelain ceramic vessels on a pottery wheel.

An advanced booking offer is available to attend ‘State of Clay’ (normally £70 pp) in collaboration with The Royal Society of Sculptors during the London Design Festival. This is a creative session to try throwing miniature porcelain ceramic works on a small wheel, decorated with coloured slips and fired in an electric kiln after the event (items will be posted to participants, UK only included) to high stoneware 1260C temperature (food safe and frost proof). Please book in advance as spaces are limited to a group of 10.

Price: 2 hour Miniature Pottery Throwing Workshop: £60 pp (special advanced booking rate, normally £35 pp ph)
