Aptman_New_york

Ifat Shterenberg **has been a member of this website for some 6 years and specialises in ceramic furniture.

She says “I’m working mostly in slab rolled clay and sculpture methods, along with metal and textile to create both functional art furniture and non-functional ceramics sculptures.

Combining hand made with industrial techniques to provide innovative furniture, some would say it’s almost contemporary furniture. Over the last 10 years I had been developing innovative methods and formulas to provide lighter weight and more durable Home furniture & Garden furniture for daily use.

One of my favorite challenges is creating rich colorful refreshing designs. I keep inventing exclusive ceramic high fired glazes with powerful colors for electric kiln.”

Her studio is excited to be launching new glazes for their ceramic home furnishing products this Spring (2017). The ceramic collection integrates the calming flow of nature with modern designs, is made of a unique mixture of clay and glaze, bestowing it with its high quality appearance which looks flexible but is nevertheless almost as durable as rock. The furniture collection made bespoke.

All the new glazes are new colors with mixture of vitality, relaxation and the great outdoors feeling. The inspiration for the glaze Collection is a renewed sense of imagination that point appeared in this context was different than the traditional. The collection highlights the discourse around the texture of the color, how to enhance the look and feel, as well as colorful.
