Auction of Pots for Adopt a Potter Charity – CLAY COLLEGE, STOKE-ON-TRENT

blogclaycoll1

Following the success of the ‘Potters for Aleppo’ auction, we would like to give potters and collectors another opportunity to acquire some great pots and support a very worthy cause. We are inviting you to join us in an auction of pots for the:   ADOPT A POTTER CHARITY – CLAY COLLEGE, STOKE-ON-TRENT

The Adopt a Potter Charity, established since 2009, is working to set up Clay College Stoke, which will help safeguard the future of studio pottery in the UK by offering 14 students a skills-based, full-time 2 year ceramics course. They will be taught by potters who make a living through ceramics, the first of its kind in the UK. To date, Adopt a Potter has raised over £82,000, but needs much more to achieve its goal and currently has a Crowdfunding appeal to support its fundraising.

Our intention is to run a 4 week auction to further support this wonderful cause.

With a magnificent donation from Lisa Hammond the founder of Adopt a Potter and the force behind the Clay College project to start us off, the auction will run from Monday 13 March 2017 – Monday 10th April 2017, closing at 15:00 (GMT)

More detailed information regarding the auction, how to donate, bid and make payment can all be found in the group file Clay College Auction Guidelines

This is a vital project if the next generation of studio potters is to emerge and succeed. Please be generous.

Editor: I am convinced that this project – launching “CLAY COLLEGE” will be of huge value to the coming generations of ceramicists/potters and fully support their fund-raising for the new College.
