Students will learn about preparing clay and different techniques of ceramics from pinch pots and coiled pottery, to slab building and throwing. Students are also guided on aspects of decoration and glazing.

Hey Clay! is a national celebration of clay. The next Hey Clay! will take place during the nationwide Get Creative weekend from 7-9 April. Find a Hey Clay! event near you below. We’re adding new venues every day so keep checking back or sign up to our newsletter for regular updates.

The first Hey Clay! in December 2015 gave people across the UK the chance to unleash their inner potter. From Newcastle to Belfast to Cornwall – over 70 venues hosted free events where over 4,000 people rolled up their sleeves and got creative with clay.

Getting creative with clay from 7- 9 April 2017
