Hey Clay! Courses at the weekend

Get Creative with clay
To celebrate the BBC’s Great Pottery Throw Down the Crafts Council and Get Creative is giving you the chance to unleash your inner potter at Hey Clay! this weekend.
Over 70 venues across the UK are running free pottery taster workshops for children, pensioners and every age in between.
All events are free but many require booking so find your nearest venue and book a place. You never know – you could be a future contestant making Keith cry on the Great Pottery Throw Down.

What’s happening?
Well quite frankly what isn’t happening.
You can have a go at raku firing in Stoke-on-Trent, make clay tiles in London, throw pots in Belfast, sgraffito in Liverpool, work with porcelain in Devon, slab-build in York, stomp clay in Cardiff, print on clay in Wolverhampton and etch-a sketch in clay at the famous Leach Pottery in Cornwall.
Great Pottery Throw Down judges Keith Brymer-Jones and Kate Malone are throwing open their studio doors, contestants Sally-Jo and Sandra will be at on hand in Farnham and Leeds and Middleport Pottery (home of the GPTD) is hosting the Wheel Deal!

Have yourself a ceramic Christmas
Purveyors of good taste Crafts magazine has a rather lovely Christmas gift guide in their current issue and our Directory showcases the work of hundreds of makers. So plenty of opportunity to find beautiful handmade Christmas pressies.
