Advanced Raku Workshop with John Evans - 10th - 13th June 2016
The Advanced' workshop for those familiar with burnishing and the use of Terra Sig incorporates a wide range of  fuming and smoking techniques (including a pit-fire)  and will be over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Book early Fills up very quickly! (3 Spaces now Left at 28/11/15)
Whichford Pottery - Workshops - 20th February 2016 - 13th June 2016
Our workshops are fun - no experience necessary! You will be taught throwing and hand-building techniques in small groups by two of our highly-skilled potters.
Glaze making and surface explorations: Jim Robison - 22nd - 27th May 2016
Informative lectures followed by practical experience of mixing raw materials into slips and glazes.
John Evans - Original Alternative Raku Workshop - Sussex - 27th - 30th May 2016
The 'Original' workshop course will include the use of burnishing and terra sigillata to provide the smooth and polished surface ideal for these 'naked clay' techniques. There will be tips on how to make work for successful firing, how to achieve those solid blacks and whites and the use of colour in naked raku. FULL

Background Information: 

The International Ceramics Festival is the UK’s leading international ceramics event, attracting over 800 participants to a series of lectures, practical demonstrations and exhibitions over three days. The focus is both practical and inspirational – kilns are built and fired, pots made and demonstrations given. Guest artists also have their own workspace enabling more in depth discussions and exchange of ideas. Over the years the Festival has built up a reputation for featuring some of the world’s best known ceramic artists and potters.
