MAJOR NEW COMMISSION UNVEILED FOR THE DUTCH ROYAL FAMILY.
It is with great pleasure that Jacob can announce the completion of a three year commission for the Dutch Royal Family. A permanent installation in the Huis ten Bosch Palace, a ceramic room, made from nearly 60,000 handmade blocks, depicts the DNA of the King and Queen of the Netherlands, and a symbolic global citizen – a human portrait of the past and of the future.

SOLO SHOW AT THE MUSEUM BEELDEN AAN ZEE OPENS IN 2020
“Jacob will present his most recent work at museum Beelden aan Zee in March 2020. This solo exhibition, A Mutating Story, fuses science with art through the unique use of ceramics and new, cutting-edge building materials such as self-healing concrete – a metaphor for an exploration of the human genome and its ability to mutate. The concept of identity, explored through the interplay of difference and uniformity, is morphed cleverly into the idea of “mutation”, resulting in an imaginative work that directs us beyond what it is to be human.” Text © courtesy of Beelden aan Zee.
Beelden aan Zee is a leading Contemporary Art Museum, just outside the Hague, that showcases the collection of Theo and Lida Scholten-Miltenburg, alongside a dynamic contemporary art programme.
