Robin Welch: The Gilbert Candles at Lincoln Cathedral

If you are passing Lincoln, it is well worth visiting the Cathedral, an amazing building with medieval glass in the rose window and generally dating from the 12th century. For lovers of Contemporary Ceramics, on the left at the East end lie Robin Welch’s five candle stick holders, known as the ‘Gilbert Candles’ Commissioned in 1985 these are stunning examples of Robin’s work in a stunning setting.  Read more »
