Over the the course of the week we will explore smoke-firing techniques resulting from the interaction of clay and fire.
There will be opportunity to hand build pieces of work suitable for taking on the markings left by contact with the fire, this will include surface marking and burnishing. We will also explore different ways of creating unique surface patterns during the smoke firing process. At the end of the week we will smoke fire the work ready to take home after it's final transformation.
Tuition will be structured in a similar fashion to Sylph's other courses with 20 hours of tuition and a workshop available until 9 pm. If you have any questions regarding the course please do get in contact with mehere.
