Matthew is running another series of throwing classes (stoneware and porcelain). starting in early 2010. Weekend workshops or morning classes. Suitable for people of all skill levels. Small groups (max 5) so plenty of 1:1 tuition - about 8 miles outside Cambridge.
Course Details
January - Starting Mon 11th - Throwing Classes
A 6 week course designed to teach you the basics or really help improve your throwing skills. The maximum class size is 5 people, so there will be plenty of opportunity for 1:1 tuition enabling students to focus on individual goals and concentrate on the particular skills that you wish to master.
This is a six week course to allow for more development of ideas and skills, making complex forms and also to allow for a glaze firing at the end of the course.
10am - 1pm

January - Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th - Porcelain throwing workshop
Porcelain is beautifully smooth clay body with unique qualities once fired. It is, however, notoriously problematic to work with, especially to throw. This two day course will focus on the specific skills and techniques needed to throw porcelain and will include finishing, turning and attaching handles and numerous tips and techniques to help avoid the pitfalls associated with working with this medium.
10am to 4pm.

February - Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th - Throwing Weekend
This is an intensive two day workshop that enable you to concentrate on developing your throwing skills and improve technique. This class is suitable for people of all abilities, from beginners, to those with plenty of experience, who wish to focus on a particular skill. A maximum of 5 people per class ensures plenty of 1:1 tuition throughout the day.
