    Work by Chris Lewis

It's a special year for South Heighton Pottery as it's exactly 60 years since Ursula and Norman Mommens (her 2nd husband) arrived here to live and work.

t was also the year of the Festival of Britain. They started working on Lion and Unicorn figures and other Festival of Britain memorabilia , some of which we still have here.

For the Brighton Festival Open House exhibition here at the Pottery this May we are holding a retrospective show of the work that they did here (pots ceramic sculpture and stone carving). There will also be pots made by Ursula from all periods of her career, from her time with Staite Murray at the Royal College of Art in the 1920's to her final show at Contemporary Ceramics  at the age of 98.
In tandem with this show will be the annual exhibition of pots, garden seats and sculpture by Chris Lewis, stoneware pots by Chris Ford and collages by Jane Robbins, in the showroom and the garden.
