The first international contemporary ceramics gallery in Budapest, Hungary will open its doors on Friday 14th December, 2007.Museion no.1 is Budapest gallery of the International Ceramics Studio, founded by Janos Probstner, one of the foremostinstitutes of world ceramic art and centre of both domestic and international higher education in arts. Its continually expanding contemporary collection comprises of around 3000 pieces of art works from 355 artists of 43 countries of the 5 continents.
The opening exhibition in Museion No.1 is a broad overview from this collection featuring works by international and Hungarian masters.In the future the three floors of the gallery will feature a program of changing exhibitions from the collection, a selling gallery for contemporaryceramics and a space for individual exhibitions.
The gallery will be opened by Imre Schrammel.
