Current Work and Artists Statement

I have worked in Raku for over fifteen years exploring the glaze surfaces on a range of sculptural and figurative work. I build experimental Raku kilns and holds events and workshops.

In the last three years, I wanted to return to making functional work, and I have developed a range of porcelain tableware and cakestands. I want to capture the strength and fluidity of thrown porcelain, focusing on design and functionality.

Commissions and Teaching:
I undertake commissions in mixed media and project manage funded socially-engaged artworks. I am available for talks, demonstrations, teaching and workshops.

I have taught for 15 years in the Further and Higher and Secondary sectors, leading HND in Ceramics at South Essex College, alongside making and exhibiting ceramics and sculptural works.
