Current Work
My love of nature and the landscape have a strong
influence on my work. I manipulate the basic
shapes observed in nature in order to create hand
built vessels and candle holders with a sculptural
feel for display indoors or in the garden. Technical InformationElectric kiln firings 1060 - 11260°c Combination of commercial and individually made glazes. History

Teaching: Past Activities
1996 - Family Drop-in day, at Derby Museum and Art Gallery. Pop
Art was the theme of the Gallery's exhibitions and related activities as
Part of the City's Art Festival. Here the activity needed to be quick and
an attractive result easily attainable. With these objectives in mind, I
made a set of moulds. The participants pressed brightly coloured clay
into the moulds, to create Pop Art jewellery. InterestsNatural History, Field archery. Fencing, gardening, walking. Glass forming. Felt making. |
