Current Work

White stoneware and 'T' material, hand-built and smoke fired.

Bridget also collaborates with Artist/Blacksmith Spencer Larcombe, who makes wonderful stands for her eggs and Spheres to nestle in. These vary from small tabletop ones and wall hangings to larger more dramatic pieces.
The Mirrors shown above are Bridget's latest creations, Hand made ceramic tiles are water etched to give texture then smoke fired in wood shavings. The tiles are mounted around a removable mirror and the wood has been burnt to enhance the smoky appearance.

Inspiration for the water etched texture comes from Nature, the marks left in the sand when the tide retreats and ripples in water.

Teaching Oualifications - Bridget has a certificate in education to teach post 16, for which she teaches day courses in Smoke firing Ceramics and Adult Education Classes. She also teaches for `Big Hand Little Hand' a Devon Guild Education department initiative, RAMM and other organisations.

She also teaches Silk Painting to adults, as well as having run day courses for DAISI and independently in other Primary schools.

She is always open to talking about residencies for schools and commissions of her work and can be contacted via her website or email.

Technical Information

Bisque fired in an electric kiln to 980deg. C. then smoke fired in wood shavings. All work is burnished, some is water etched, other are left and resist decorated before smoke firing.
