The Raku pieces are made from Scarva Flax Paper Clay, the stoneware pieces from Scarva earthstone. Background and Education
I trained as a potter at Hammersmith College of Art, on graduating I moved to France setting up a studio in which I worked for the next ten years. Moved back to the UK to a studio in Sussex ,and was then appointed HOD Ceramics Department at St Leonards Mayfield School. I continued to combine teaching and doing my own work until 2007. My present studio was established in 2004 and I now work there full time. My work has always included a sculptural element and for several years I have concentrated on animal forms influenced by the rural environment in which I live.My aim is to create work which is full of movement, respecting the essential character of the subject matter. Each piece is individualy constructed from rolled sheets of clay and then modelled . Recent Exhibitions
