I make sculptural ceramics in both earthenware and oxidised stoneware. I am inspired by functional objects, jugs, bowls etc., and by applying surface decoration and playing with form I produce a range of individual pieces.
Work generally available from:
Contemporary Ceramics, London
Terra Viva gallery, St. Quentin La Poterie, France
All of my work is hand-built using coiling and press moulding techniques. I have developed a range of dry, matt glazes which used in combination with oxides and coloured engobes, produce textural and vibrant surface decorations.
Trained in London, moved to the Midlands in 1979 and established my own workshop. Until recently I have been involved in Art education. I am now a full time maker.
Examples of my work have been featured in major exhibitions and purchased by both private and public collections in the UK and abroad.
