Artists' Statement

Artists' Statement

A London based ceramicist, Fay loves to experiment with clay, exploring different perspectives of nature and traveling around the world, collecting curio to be inspired by. She believes objects tell stories of people’s lives, often holding personal and collective meanings of a particular time, place, and event.

Fay has participated in many events and exhibitions since July 2004 in England, Japan, Bali, Milan, Bahrain, Dubai and the USA.

Technical Information

Technical Information

Porcelain, bone china and local clays have been utilised in her works to create intimate installations and customised relation gifts. Hand building, slip casting and throwing altered forms are all methods Fay adopts to create works.

Surface decoration is created using a wide range of techniques, such as sprigging, slip decorating, impressing, enamel or digital transfer prints, dependent upon the project.

Some pieces are fired unglazed, to allow for the quality of a clay body texture to be revealed and touched. Local clays for site-specific installations have also been utilized to give an essence of a time and place.
