Current Work

Functional, finely thrown stoneware. Pieces are used as a canvas for colourful glaze painting, making each piece unique. Jane makes a wide range of stoneware including bowls,jugs, plates, cups, vases and lamps in a variety of sizes.

Special Commissions are welcomed.

Technical Information

Reduction firing in Gas kiln to 1,300deg. C. Wide range of glazes, using metal oxides of cobalt, copper and iron etc. to experiment with colour.

History

Studied Industrial Design in South Africa and worked for SA Philips and Union Corp.Gold Mining Co. Then gained an MA in ceramics at Royal College of Art.

First studio in East End of London, while teaching in Epsom, London and Portsmouth. Moved to Oxfordshire, and now working and teaching in converted cowsheds at the bottom of garden in Waterstock. I also teach Ceramics at Oxford and Cherwell Valley College

Exhibited in London, Oxford, Cambridge and York.

Directions: The studio is in the pretty village of Waterstock just off the A418, beween Thame and Wheatley. Easy access from the M40 at junction 8A. Just 10 miles from Oxford, 50 miles from London and 60 miles from Birmingham.
