Artists Statement
It is difficult to define my work although I focus primarily on decoration. I am still searching for the 'Holy Grail' of ceramics. The 'Perfect' pot that never seems to come out of the kiln, but that aspiration drives me forward to do new work. It is the journey that keeps me going! Current Work and Availability
White earthenware, tubeline decorated and lustre ware. Tubelining is a raised form of slip outline thast can lend itself to many creative possibilities from freely drawn naturalistic designs to an arresting new range of contemporary facepots. A wide variety of work from vases and bowls, lamp bases to plaques that would enhance any interior. Also a range of lustreware including jewellery Technical InformationElectric kiln fired to 1100deg. C with Matt and Gloss Glazes. Also low fired for Lustres. BackgroundWork sold at many Shows and Galleries in early career, but fewer shows in recent years, after opening studio 10 years ago. Jonathan's career has also included designing for Moorcroft pottery. |
