Technical Information

Electric kiln, 1100deg. C. I use some glazes but surfaces are mainly mixed media comprising vitreous slips, underglaze colours, oil paint. Porcelain pieces are reduction-fired to 1300 in a small gas kiln.

History

Foundation course at Somerset College of Art & Design, DIP. AD at Gloucester College of Art & design in Fine Art (Sculpture with Painting); Married John Jelfs in 1972 and became a potter.

Availability: Pottery open Monday to Saturday 9.30am. to 5.00pm. Usually open Sundays during the summer and often during the winter. Visitors are welcome, but it is advisable to telephone first if traveling any distance.

Directions: The Cotswold Pottery is tucked away from the well trodden tourist track through the village. Yet it is only 5 minutes walk from the main carpark, and has limited parking for visitors. There are also regular bus services from Cheltenham and Moreton-in-Marsh, which both have main line train stations.
