Artists Statement

I am most concerned with form and surface texture. I make simple shapes, rounded teapots and bowls, cylindrical bottles and mugs. I use satin matt glazes, which melt or 'break' to gloss on rims and throwing lines, sometimes with tiny matt crystals.

I am currently using a tactile satin matt white glaze on the outside of pots. The insides of mugs, jugs, plates and bowls are glazed with shiny clear or fluid coloured glazes.

I am also concerned with functionality and detail. All my pots are made to be handled and used. I use porcelain for its strength, density and purity. Some larger pots are made with stoneware.
