My own work is predominantly wheel thrown stoneware and makes reference to historical design patterns. It is heavily influenced by the research I’ve carried out for the tile company.
I draw on themes of British colonialism and the way in which the uk has become an eclectic mix of cultural styles, as immigration has brought with it a rich source of influence. I am particularly interested in things that have stylistically become adopted by the British mainstream.
Central St. Martins : Ceramic Art London 2018
March 23, 2018 to March 25, 2018
Since 2006 I have been running Froyle Tiles, a company producing high fired Stoneware tiles. We produce hand made tiles for the trade, restoration projects and bespoke site specific work for Architects and designers.
We have carried out commissions for clients such as the BBC, Fired Earth, Nanado’s and M&S. More recently we have collaborated with potter kate Malone and Epr Archiects on a large scale commercial project in Savile Row.
I Recently took part in the (2015) BBC 2 Programme ‘The great British Pottery Throwdown’. My role was ‘on screen technician’
