Current Work

I make earthenware domestic ceramics, (including bowls, jugs, plates, butter and cheese dishes, teapots and goblets) and decorative wall plates. I draw my inspiration mainly from nature, folk art and craft from around the world and the making process itself.

Technical Information

I use a white earthenware clay. After throwing, the work is tubelined with deflocculated body slip at leatherhard stage and biscuit-fired to 1120-40ºC. It is then decorated using latex resist and trailed, dipped and sprayed brightly-coloured glazes. Finally, it is glaze-fired to 1046-60ºC.
