Artists StatementInspiration comes from a fascination for eroded surfaces and what lies beneath, their textures, layers and restrained colours. Current Work
Low fired decorative ware. Work Generally Available from:Lund Gallery, Alne nr. Easingwold, North Yorkshire. Technical InformationWork is thrown and fired in an electric kiln to 1080oC–1140oC using earthenware and stoneware clays. I use a Lithium based glaze together with a Vitreous slip containing Silicon Carbide. For further texture Paperclay is sometimes added to the surface. Background HistoryI started at Harrogate College in 1996 on an Access Course in Art and Design to fill in time while my children where growing up. This ended up with my doing an HND in 3d Design after which in 2003, was asked to teach some evening classes and summer schools at the college. What I really wanted though was to be a maker in my own right and after seeking advice started to develop my own work. Exhibition History
