Current Work

Wood-fired Stoneware and porcelain. All my work is thrown on momentum and kick wheels using soft clays, which I mix at the pottery. I Make a small amount of table ware, although most of my time is now concentrated on one off pieces. Currently working on some large scale thrown pots up to 5ft tall.

Work may be found at:

Grapevine Gallery, Norwich, Norfolk
Burnham Grapevine Gallery, Norfolk

Technical Information

I use two wood-fired kilns. Kiln 1, is a 125 cu ft down draft kiln fired to cone 9-11 in 24 hrs using soft wood off cuts. Most of the work for this kiln is glazed with a variety of wood ash glazes including apple, oak, pine, and straw ash. Kiln 2 is an anagama type kiln fired for 3 or 4 days with a mixture of hard and soft wood to cone 1213.
