Current Work and Availability
I work from my studio in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, England, where I specialise in wheel-thrown pottery and porcelain bowls. Technical Information
I use a range of clays including warm buff stoneware, smooth cream coloured clay or porcelain. I specialise in wheel-thrown porcelain which I fire to stoneware temperatures in an electric kiln. I particularly enjoy experimenting with colours and textures in glazes and the results often inspire me to design jewellery. In my latest range I use the whitest porcelain available in order to show the glass-like qualities of the glaze to its best advantage. Vivid colours are obtained by using natural oxides in a highly alkaline glaze. The colours run together during the firing process creating an array of often unpredictable patterns. History and Background
I graduated from Loughborough University in 2007 and now have a studio at my home in Leicestershire. Exhibition History
2007 'New Designers Exhibition', Business Design Centre, Islington, London. Collections2010 Acquisition of three pieces by Melton Carnage Museum, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. |
