London Potters is a voluntary organisation formed in 1986 to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences of all those involved with or interested in ceramics. It is the only London-based society offering membership to both professional and non-professional ceramicists; all its members are united by the appreciation of ceramic art and a desire to further their knowledge and communicate with fellow ceramic artists and collectors.
London Potters received charitable status in 2001 to further these aims.
The society’s aims and objectives:
- Help members achieve a more critical awareness of their own skills.
- Provide a showcase to promote their work through regular exhibitions and the newsletter.
- Increase their knowledge in the field and promote exchange of ideas and experiences through workshops, talks and slide shows.
- Promote, maintain, improve and advance the education and appreciation of ceramics in all its aspects via publicity and all activities above mentioned.
membership is open to anyone with an interest in ceramics. Whether you are a full or part-time maker, just touched clay for the first time, a collector, a gallery owner or simply share our passion for the wonder of clay, we look forward to welcoming you.
