Spring has seen lots of activity take place, our ‘Pot and Plot’ short course came to a close with many creative responses to the theme emerging from the kiln. Gardens and window ledges of Stoke-on-Trent will be enhanced by the presence of ceramics made at the Clay Foundation Studio at Spode.
Our first Clay Together – a family making workshop – was a great success with the Studio filled with enthusiastic makers of all ages. Some fantastic pieces were made, full of imaginative and creative ideas! Our next family friendly session will take place on Saturday 7th May.

Watch out for further news of our ‘Clay School’ adult courses, run in conjunction with Stoke-on-Trent City Council. This will include two 10-week beginners’ courses for those new to clay and a 10-week intermediate course for those wishing to dig a little deeper.

The Open Studio is almost ready to be opened, with participants from our short courses and local makers taking the opportunity to build a creative clay community and develop their skills and ideas. If you are interested in applying to join us on Thursdays, please contact jo@britishceramicsbiennial.com

Plus we’ll be at a very special day at Staffordshire University this Saturday 16th April delivering a workshop as you get the chance to see the Thornhill Collection of rare oriental ceramics, valuations, short talks and chances to collect new work by up and coming designers.

A reminder that we have announced 2017’s British Ceramics Biennial that will take place from the  23 September – 12 November 2017.

Keep a look out for other announcements via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
